Rectangle, boat, round or modular

Rectangular tables fit long rooms and make the most of wall space. Boat-shaped tops widen in the middle so people at the ends can see each other. Round tables suit small rooms and four to six people. Modular or training tables can be reconfigured but may show seams.

What to look at on a used table

Large tops travel in sections, so inspect how they join as well as the surface:

  • Top surface and edges for chips, deep scratches or swelling
  • Joining hardware and alignment between sections
  • Base stability and levelers on every foot
  • Grommets or power modules present and undamaged
  • Largest single piece compared with your doors and elevator

Some do. Check which features are included on the specific table. Connection to building power should be handled by a qualified electrician.
