Reception Desks and Guest Seating for NJ Offices

A reception area is the first room a client sees and the room staff use all day. Plan the visitor route from the door, choose seating that is easy to clean and stands up to traffic, and make sure the person behind the desk has a proper task chair.

Reception desk: transaction height and work surface

Many reception desks combine a raised transaction counter with a lower work surface. Check that both fit the work being done, that there is accessible counter space where needed, and that cables can be routed out of sight.

Guest seating that lasts

For waiting areas, durability and cleaning matter more than adjustability:

  • Upholstery that can be wiped or cleaned to your standards
  • Arms that help people sit and stand
  • Sturdy frames and intact glides on legs
  • Spacing that keeps the walkway clear

Common questions

Can I mix used reception seating with new pieces?

Yes. It is common to buy a used reception desk and new seating, or the reverse. Compare finishes in person.

Do you have matching sets of guest chairs?

Sometimes. Ask for the current count and condition.

What should I bring to plan a reception area?

A sketch with the door, desk position and dimensions, plus photos of the space if possible.
